Today, Tuesday, the World Health Organization announced that it will hold a meeting of member states to discuss strategies to confront a new strain of the emerging corona virus that appeared in Britain.
WHO Regional Director Hans Kluge said on Twitter: “Limiting travel to contain the spread is wise so that we have better information. Supply chains of commodities and essential travel must remain possible,”
Klug urged to increase preventive measures, without specifying a date for the meeting.
The organization warned of serious concern about the mutation of the virus, saying it was a natural part of the development of the epidemic, and commended Britain for discovering this mutation.
The World Health Organization reiterated in a statement today, Tuesday, that there is not enough information yet to determine whether the new mutation of the virus can affect the effectiveness of the vaccine, confirming that research is continuing.
