The New York Times quoted its sources as saying that about 70 million doses of the J&J vaccine against Covid-19 may be stopped in the United States, due to the possibility of contamination.
Earlier, it was reported that a mistake had occurred in one of the Johnson & Johnson factories in Baltimore, where the components of two different anti-Coronavirus vaccines were mixed, and as a result, 15 million doses of the J&J vaccine were corrupted.
According to these sources, the FDA is concerned about the possibility of contamination in other batches of vaccines that were produced at the same time as the contaminated doses.
The sources indicated that this US supervisory administration is currently considering stopping the use of about 70 million doses of J&J vaccines against Covid that were produced at the factory.
According to the newspaper, the total number of “suspicious” doses of J&J vaccines that have reached the countries of the European Union, Canada and South Africa ranges from 6 to 9 million.
