Levante struck a surprise caliber, and won a precious victory over Barcelona, 3-1 on Saturday evening, in the 12th round of La Liga.
Lionel Messi scored from the penalty spot in the 38th minute, while Levante Campania, Borja Mayoral and Nemanja Radoia scored in the 61st, 63rd and 68th minutes.
The defeat is Barcelona’s third in La Liga this season, temporarily frozen to 22 points in the lead, and Levante jumped to eighth with 17 points.
The fight for the top of the league, after the fall of Barca between runners-up Real Madrid (21 points), Granada and Atletico Madrid and Sevilla (20 points each).
